  • Product description

Naturo F Powder from Murphy & Son is a vegan‑friendly fining added to fermented cider, wine and vinegar to remove yeast cells from suspension. The product contains a naturally occurring chitosan derived from mushrooms and is effective across a wide range of fermented beverages.

The primary function of Naturo‑F Powder is to remove yeast cells following fermentation. The positively charged chitosan molecules rapidly attract negatively charged yeast cells, forming large aggregates that are unable to remain in suspension. These aggregates settle quickly, leaving a bright supernatant with compact sediment.

Naturo‑F Powder is effective at reducing the need for cold crashing, filtration or centrifugation. It produces rapid clarification while maintaining product quality and is safe and easy to handle. Its concentrated format provides a long shelf life and consistent performance across different production setups.

    When to use

Naturo‑F Powder should be applied after fermentation has completed. The cider, wine or vinegar should be racked or decanted from sediment into a clean, sterile container, mixed thoroughly and allowed to stand for up to 24 hours. During this period, a precipitate will form and settle, resulting in a clear finished product.

    Preparation and application

Naturo‑F Powder must be dissolved in water using high‑shear mixing. A solution strength of approximately 2.5% w/v is recommended for ease of dissolution. Warmer water temperatures between 30–40°C aid mixing.

Recommended addition rates vary depending on the product, recipe and yeast strain used. Naturo‑F Powder should be added at 1–5 mL per litre. Optimisation trials are advised to determine the correct rate for each application.

    Storage and handling

Naturo F Powder is suitable for use in wine, cider and vinegar production where rapid yeast sedimentation is required after fermentation.
