Phil has worked in the lab at Murphys for almost 17 years, before which he was team leader at Mansfield Brewery until its closure in 2002. He’s seen the company change and grow considerably over the years and the question remains, how many ABV analysis must he have carried out, it’s got to be in the 1000s? Phil also has a special interest and investment in the lesser known range we produce for caged birds; Murphy’s Pro System minerals. Having been a champion budgerigar exhibitor for over 45 years, he often finds himself all over the country talking about and selling this product. With so many dedicated years in the brewing industry, Phil has met many real characters along the way, enough to write a book about our brilliant, eccentric and one-of-a-kind industry!
